The Real China: True Fujian And Shaolin Immersion tour is a program that focuses on immersing students in the Chinese Language.

We are extremely excited to announce our partnership with Southern Shaolin Temple. For the first time Students will be able to live and train with Shaolin monks at the birthplace of Kung-Fu.

This trip will be an unforgettable experience into the Chinese Culture and Language. This trip will take students to places in Fujian province where the only mode of verbal interaction with others will be using the Chinese they have learned, far away from other foreign tourists. We will be visiting beautiful sites, sites that are famous in China but are not known to the outside world, sites where no English is spoken. We will be staying in Xiamen, Quanzhou, and Southern Shaolin Temple.

We will live and train with monks at Shaolin Temple, go to the port where Marco Polo landed, visit some of the oldest temples in China, explore beautiful Xiamen, and discover the ancient city of Quanzhou . This program is designed to help students develop intercultural understanding, improve their fluency in Chinese, become engrossed in Chinese history, and obtain a wider view of the world.

Go Chinese! Tours

Tentative Itinerary

May 27th- Fly from Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson international terminal to Xiamen China. Overnight flight, we are all sitting together. Dinner, breakfast and lunch are provided.

May 28th Arrive in Xiamen, TakeRest and explore Xinglin Village, meet members of Jojo’s family and enjoy a home cooked meal by Jojo’s mom. Transition to the Gao Pu Village Homestay Inn 19 Nan Men Rd, Xiamen, China. We will be staying here for the remainder of the trip in Xiamen and will be living with Jojo’s family. Class after dinner and bed at 10:30.

May 29th Wake up at 8:00 Day trip to Jimei, Explore the famous Turtle Gardens, Jimei University and Wanda shopping plaza. Return to Xinglin at night for dinner. Class after dinner and bed at 10:30.

May 30th - Stay in Xinglin, go to a Chinese Movie Theatre, Ping-Pong hall, shop at traditional Chinese Market and explore local temples. Try Chinese BBQ and have a home cooked dinner by Jojo’s mom. Have class and go to bed at 10:30.

May 31st-Day trip to Xiamen island, visit Xiamen University and explore the surrounding college town. Eat at the FAMOUS Dumpling restaurant. Visit the shopping road Zhong Shan Lu. Return to Xinglin at night. Have class and go to bed at 10:30.

June 1st- Short trip to Huli Shan fortress and then return to Xinglin mid day so we can spend the rest of the day in the village. EXPERIENCE CHINESE PIZZA HUT. We will have our strangest China experience and then have class and go to bed at 10:30

June 2nd- day trip to Gulangyu island, one of China’s top travel destination. Return to Xinglin at night. Have class and go to bed at 10:30

June 3rd- Trip to Quanzhou by bullet train, we will be staying here for the next four days. We will visit Kai Yuan Monastery, The temple of the war god Guan Yu, The Dragon Towers and the oldest Mosque in China. Return to Xinglin at night. Have class and go to bed at 10:30

June 4th-6th Students will take part in daily classes and training sessions with the Monks of Southern Shaolin Temple. We will also visit the port where Marco Polo landed and some of the oldest landmarks in China

June 7th- 7:00 Wake up. Return to Xinglin and visit Yuan Bo Yuan China’s largest botanical gardens and visit our cousin’s fishing shack. Final dinner with Jojo’s family. Take late night flight back To atlant

June 8th- Students arrive back in the USA.
